Expectations in Fantasy Baseball

Expectations in Fantasy Baseball

Baseball season is underway. This is the first year I have participated in a Fantasy Baseball League and I have learned a lot from being an active participant in watching players from various teams compete for my team.  Unfortunately, in these first few weeks, my team members are not performing as well as anticipated. Much like fantasy baseball, we have great expectations of other people. We invest in other people’s lives and expect great returns on our investments. Parents expect much of their children. Bosses expect much of their employees. Friends expect much of their friends.

So what do we do when our expectations are not met out of our investments? Do we get frustrated and trade the friends for new friends? Do we address the concerns and bench the players in our lives until they can perform efficiently? Or do we trust in the investment and continue to invest in our friends’ lives because we believe in them?  Fantasy or reality, we are all investing in others. How will you handle the disappointments?  There will always be disappointments, but how we handle those disappointments will help shape our futures.
