Carter obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Clemson University. She then went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health from Mercer University. While completing her Master’s, Carter gained clinical experience integrating art and play into therapy with children and adolescents, aged 3-13.  She also has specialized training and experience teaching students with learning disabilities, providing trauma-informed care, and using a variety of parenting skills and strategies! As a former kindergarten and first grade teacher, Carter understands the importance of navigating the school system in an effort to support the child’s individual needs.

Carter has had the opportunity to work with children facing a range of concerns. Her clinical experience has included counseling children adjusting to significant life changes, experiencing grief and loss issues, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), trauma, self-esteem issues, learning disabilities, and general emotional regulation difficulties. She values wraparound care, including working alongside parents or guardians to support in meeting the child’s unique therapeutic goals!

Carter is practicing under the supervision of Rebekah Jones, LPC, CPCS.
