Sara is a Hoosier turned southerner with a background in nonprofit leadership and mental health counseling. She holds her MA from Huntington University in Counseling and her BS from Indiana University in Human Resources.
As the Executive Director of GROW Restored, Sara believes everyone should get an equal opportunity to grow. After years of seeing people decide not to pursue counseling due to financial hardship, GROW Restored is making it possible for more people to get the help they need by providing scholarships.
As a therapist, Sara gained valuable experience counseling teens, women, and couples at a counseling center in Indiana. She also completed additional training in couples therapy through the Gottman Institute and is a Gottman Level 1 certified therapist.
Sara specializes in working with the following:
Teens – Sara enjoys working with teens and young adults as they navigate the most formative years of their lives. Issues include: life transitions, anxiety, depression, career/college plans, self-harm, and trauma.
Parents – From postpartum to empty nesting, parenting can provide challenges with each new stage of your child’s life. Sara specializes in equipping and supporting parents to succeed at every stage.
Women – Life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, wives of ministry leaders, and women in ministry
Couples – Premarital counseling, newlyweds, empty nesters, infidelity
Sara and her husband have three energetic boys so their house is rarely quiet, but a lot of fun. She enjoys serving in ministry with her husband and in their spare time, they also host a podcast, write, and lead spiritual retreats.
Sara is practicing under the supervision and direction of Jennifer Wilmoth, LMFT in the GROW Suwanee office.
