Mindy Pierce is licensed as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia and North Carolina (LCMHC), and is in private practice with GROW Counseling. She received her MA in Counseling Psychology from Indiana Wesleyan University, her BA from Asbury University, and she is grateful to have 20+ years of experience working in trauma-informed mental health services.
Her clinical experience includes working with men’s and women’s issues; relationship issues; parenting stress; pornography and infidelity; substance and process addictions; depression; anxiety; grief; PTSD; personality disorders; and survivors of sexual, physical and emotional abuse, complex trauma, secondary trauma, commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking. She is trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing), and offers longer segments of session time through half-day, full-day, and 2-day therapeutic intensives, when appropriate.
Mindy enjoys working with first responders and military, as well as supporting those on the front lines of anti human trafficking efforts and various nonprofits. Her passion for this work and her unique understanding of these populations are the result of several privileges: being married to a first responder, providing a variety of mental health consultation and trauma-informed workshops for local police, leading short-term international trips and counseling seminars, and living and working in Sri Lanka for 18 months on a post-tsunami recovery project, where she first began her involvement in anti human trafficking work.
Since returning to the United States, Mindy has worked in a private, inpatient setting with survivors of commercial sexual exploitation and as a therapist in private practice. Additional initiatives include creating STRONGERconnection|cards™ (a conversation tool designed for proactively building relationships); spearheading Grow Counseling’s mental health partnership with Swim Atlanta; and collaborating with the Tracy Hanson Initiative to co-facilitate trauma-informed intensives for college and elite athletes, coaches and support staff, and individuals involved in sports ministry.
Mindy and her husband live in the Atlanta area with their three children.
