Ellen is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a B.A. in Psychology from The University of Alabama and an M.S. in Counseling & Psychology- Clinical Mental Health from Troy University in Panama City, Florida. Ellen’s clinical experience includes work in an addiction treatment center, residential treatment facility, hospital outpatient program, and private practice. Ellen has worked with adults and seniors in group and individual therapy. These experiences have allowed her to expand her skills working with diverse populations and tailor her approach to best suit the individualized needs of her clients.

Ellen believes there is not a one-size-fits all approach to therapy. Each person is a unique individual and she strives to create a nonjudgmental environment that encourages authenticity and trust. One of Ellen’s greatest strengths is establishing a strong therapeutic alliance in order to help hurting people. Ellen approaches therapy using a holistic lens and she draws on her experience with various therapeutic techniques including CBT, DBT, IFS, and motivational interviewing, among others to help you heal. Ellen is passionate about helping her clients gain awareness, identify and understand unhelpful patterns of thinking, and become more emotionally intelligent. Additionally, she enjoys helping her clients find a sense of purpose, identify and implement boundary setting, improve communication, and understand the “why” and not just focus on the “how”.

In her free time, Ellen loves watching Braves baseball, eating breakfast foods with her husband, and snuggling with her three cats.
