Do you have drama?

Warning: What you are about to read in this blog is controversial and should not be read by the easily offended. Now that I have added a bit of drama to grab your attention here are some take aways about reducing the drama in your life.

The quest to reducing the drama starts with you because at the end of the day the only person you can change is you. This could mean choosing to respond to someone differently, waking up earlier to have a more relaxing morning, or keeping calm when your child is screaming in public. The hard part is that you cannot change how someone responds to you, the occasional morning mishap, or even your child’s screaming. But you can change how you deal with them. Matching drama with more drama will only create…you guessed it more drama. So here is the challenge: try matching drama with calm and see what happens.

One of the ways for you to stay calm and chose how you want to react to a potentially drama producing situations is putting this bit of information in your pocket; how you feel can be separated from your thoughts and your actions. Just because you feel angry or disappointed does not mean you have no other choice but to yell or respond with sarcasm. Even though you cannot change your feelings you are the only one who can change your thoughts and your actions.
