Lose Your Mind to Find Your Body

The mind is a powerful and confusing structure. Have you ever heard the phrase, “it’s all in your head”? I think a lot of us can take that phrase figuratively instead of actually thinking literally about it. Let’s try: imagine a time when you were over analyzing, over-thinking, stressing or worrying about a situation. It isn’t impossible for us to become engulfed in a thought so much that we have no idea what our body is doing or feel. That can become dangerous! Mindlessness takes over.

When you’re faced with a situation in which you cannot stop thinking about it and find yourself lost in what you’re feeling. Stop. Take a deep breath. Try counting to 10. Allow your self to find a connection between your mind and body so that you can get out of your head in order to feel your body.
